I love to read a good romance (go figure). Here are a few authors I love that are always churning out great quality stories...

Tamara Ellison

Tamara is an incredible contemporary romance author whose characters have so much warmth and depth. Start with The Best Man, then burn through every other book she has written!

Shannon has quite a talent for the written word and builds an unforgettable world in every book. She's currently working on the celebrity romance It's Only Forever.

H. Nuijs

Hillie's My Pet Mate is one of the most fun and original takes on the werewolf genre that I've read in a long time, and her characters are a delight to read.

Melissa White

I love Melissa's Knight Security series, following the former special-ops boys of Knight Security as they find love. It's addictive and hard not to burn through the whole thing!

Andrea Torres

Torres's Immortal Gods series is a sassy, unique, and sharp take on Greek mythology starring a no-nonsense teen cheerleader protagonist. Definitely check her out!

Want to support your favorite indie authors? Here's a few small things you can do that make a big difference.

1. Write A Review

Reviews are incredibly important to indie authors because readers use them to decide what to read. Take a moment to write a glowing review your favorite book on Amazon, Goodreads, or Barnes & Noble. You'll not only make the author's day, but you'll be helping other readers find their book.

2. Share with Friends

Love a particular writer or book? Let your friends know by recommending it on social media or telling them in person. Word of mouth is an indie author's best friend.

3. Request the Book at Your Library

Most local libraries have a request sheet in person or online. Asking your local library to order the book will make it available to an entirely new group of readers.

4. Interact with Their Social Media

Follow your favorite authors on social media and sign up for their newsletters. When they post, send a like their way or—even better—write a quick comment. Just interacting with their content will boost their ability to reach other people, and you'll be supporting a small author.

5. Spread the Word

Have a blog? Podcast? Youtube channel? Use your platforms to post a review or talk about why you liked the book. Even if you don't have something like this, you can reach out to your favorites and ask them to review the book.

As a writer and reader who also struggles with chronic pain, I know that even laying down and reading can be a struggle at times. Here are a few things that have really been helpful for me.

Mirror Glasses

If you suffer from neck pain and stiffness or find it difficult to bend your neck for long periods, these glasses will be a huge help. They have mirrors positioned at a 90-degree angle, so you can read without tilting your head and neck.

Tablet Stand

This stand can hold your tablet or phone at just about any angle you can imagine, which is especially helpful if you get arm strain from holding up your e-reader.

Bamboo Bath Caddy

I love my bath caddy and it's a chronic pain lifesaver for two reasons: First, it allows me to soak my sore muscles while reading. Second, it holds my reading material for me so I don't strain my muscles.
